Free Legal Education Classes (2011)

In the first half of 2011, The Glens Falls Home, Inc. once again provided opportunities for seniors to learn more about wills, health care proxies, and powers of attorney. Due to the popularity of this subject, the number of free clinics was doubled from two in 2010 to four in 2011. At each clinic, seniors learned more about these important documents from experienced local attorneys and were able to ask questions after each presentation.
The dates and locations of the clinics were as follows:
- May 4th at the Queensbury Senior Citizens, Inc.
- May 11th at the Greater Glens Falls Senior Citizens Center
- May 18th at the Moreau Community Center
- May 19th at the Senior Center of Kingsbury & Ft. Edward Area
Dennis O’Connor, Esq., from the firm of McPhillips, Fitzgerald, Cullum, L.L.P., taught the clinics at the Queensbury Senior Citizens, Inc. and the Greater Glens Falls Senior Citizens Center.
Elisabeth Mahoney, Esq., from the firm of Bartlett, Pontiff, Stewart & Rhodes, P.C., taught the clinics at the Moreau Community Center and the Senior Center of Kingsbury & Fort Edward Area.
The Glens Falls Home, Inc. is grateful to both attorneys for donating their time to provide these valuable clinics. We are also grateful to the participating senior centers and their executive directors for their generosity in providing us with a place to offer these excellent programs.
