During this time, containers of ice melt can be picked up at senior centers in Queensbury, Glens Falls, Moreau, and the Kingsbury-Fort Edward area. In addition, ice melt will be available at our main office. Please see our Programs page for further details.
Mission
To enhance the quality of life of seniors in the community, directly and indirectly, by providing services, programs, and opportunities to meet their ever-changing needs.
Objectives
Since 1899, The Glens Falls Home, Inc. has been caring for the seniors in our community. Over 110 years later, we continue to lead the way by partnering with local agencies and organizations to identify and develop innovative programs and services for this rapidly changing population.
As a private, not-for-profit operating foundation, our focus is on enhancing the quality of life of seniors who live independently in the community.
A History of Commitment
More than a century ago, the founders of the Glens Falls Home saw the need to provide aging single and widowed women in the City of Glens Falls and surrounding areas with a safe and comfortable home in which to live out their remaining years.
Many decades later, the Board of Directors again saw a need, as they watched elderly residents leave their friends and families to seek independent retirement communities elsewhere that could provide desired services and amenities. We responded to that need in 2002 by building The Glen at Hiland Meadows in Queensbury, providing a lovely independent living community along with a new enriched housing unit for our current residents.
It is in this same spirit and commitment that we continue to work diligently to identify and then fulfill the ever-evolving needs of seniors in the greater Glens Falls community.
